Roses are Red

Roses are red
Violets are blue
This hairpiece is fun
and easy to do

I'm pretty sure I've never written a better poem.

Just kidding.

Since Valentines Day is fast approaching, I thought I would share this little DIY flower hairpiece. You could use it as part of a cute date outfit. Trust me, this is so easy and fun to make! You get to play with fire. How can you resist it now?

I wear this one all the time!

Here's what you need:

1. Polyester Satin

2. A candle

3. Needle and thread

4. Sissors

5. Embelishments of your choosing

I love anything that involves fire, so naturally this craft is for me. First you need to cut out some circles from the fabric. I used all different sizes. Next you get to burn the edges of the fabric! (That was my favorite part!) If you don't like the burned look, put the fabric close to the flame (not in it) and it will melt. It is so fun to watch. Then all you do is sew the pieces together and attach your embellishment to the center. Voila! You are done with your cute flower hairpiece! I attached mine to a boby pin, but you could really use anything you have on hand.

 Happy crafting!

Very nice! Reminds me of one of my favorite flowers....a red poppy! I'm busy making things too right now...just received an order of amazing Victorian era seed beads and crystals and I am sewing them onto lace to make necklace pendants!

Cheers!
