I wish I was a ballerina

Ballet has always been a love of mine. My childhood dream was to dance in the Nutcracker, but alas music not dance was my intended path. I like to pretend that I am a dancer though. People tell me that I have a dancer's figure. Does that count for anything? :) Even though I don't dance, my heart still has a soft place for the elegance of ballet. The graceful movements of a ballerina coupled with dramatic classical music will always move me to the core.

Photographing Kathryn was a pleasure. She certainly has a natural grace and ease of movement. Nothing about her movements were awkward, but perfectly poised instead. She was just the first of a whole class I did portraits for last week! More ballerina cuteness is coming! I promise. :)

Did you ever dream of being a ballerina?

These are beautiful! I actually was a ballerina for 10 years. I started in 1st grade, and then continued 4th -12th grades. Sometimes I dance around the house just for fun. :) I have often thought about taking an adult class, maybe someday! :)

these are so precious. I always wish I had had time to do more dance- I think it's such a good form of expression and a deep form of worship!

I took ballet when I was about 8. But I quit because I didn't like wearing lipstick for the recitals. Oh what was I thinking? This girl is rockin' those red lips!

I took ballet for four years. I have no grace and I am short and stocky haha. It was not a good fit. However, what I always wanted to be was a gymnast.

These photos are beautiful!

Gorgeous! Can't wait to see the rest of the pics. This girl looks adorable, she looks kind of tomboyish with her fierce stare and then she's in this cute little tutu, it's a great juxtaposition! In the photo where she's dancing, her face is glowing!! I love dancing so much :)

Beautiful photos.

Ballet is one of those things that just makes me wish I had made more effort as a kid. I am so inflexible now it's ridiculous!

Our three year old has been begging to do ballet. I was a basketball, softball, soccer, track kind of girl. But if she wants to do ballet, I'd LOVE it!

I took ballet classes when I was little but the teacher cared more for her nephew or niece (I don't remember, now) than teaching the class, so I didn't want to go anymore.

Never has ANYONE said I have a dancers body. haha

Fantastic Photos Jen! Each set you post is better than the next :)

I tried ballet as a child but I was never any good at it. I mostly did it to improve my figure skating and in that aspect it did help! :)

Little Miss Kathryn is GORGEOUS! :)

I definitely think that every girl dreams of being a dancer. :) I am the farthest thing from graceful, though. Booo.
