A Scrumptious Supper!

Being domestic...ah! It is so wonderful just to come home and cook sometimes. Monday was certainly that kind of night for me. It all started by....

Coming home...

Setting the table with pretty flowers...

And starting supper!

I made Chicken Crescent Rolls. They are so easy and delicious.

Ingredients:
  • 1 can of Cream of Chicken soup
  • About a cup of sour cream
  • Parsley
  • Garlic
  • Shredded chicken (I bake it usually. It gives it better flavor in my opinion.)
  • 1 can of crescent rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cummin
  • Optional: any kind of veggie (I added spinach this time)
Sidenote: I can't take credit for this recipe. One of my good friends made it once and I fell in love!

After I mixed the Cream of Chicken, sour cream, spices, shredded chicken and spinach together, I started steaming the broccoli.

Then I took the crescent rolls...

Spread them out into squares...

Then added the filling.

And now the beautiful crescent rolls are ready for the oven!

I think my feeling of  domestic-ness was partially due to the fact that I was wearing an ADORABLE apron from Antro! Thanks sis-in-law!

I really do love it. I just might wear it everyday. I might sleep in it. Ok, I am just kidding. I am not kidding...maybe.

While the scrumptious supper was cooking away, I had a few spare moments to add to our kitchen chalk board.

After about 10 minutes in the oven it's all done!

Yummy!

I promise that it is so delicious!

My husband gets so excited whenever I make these!

Ok, that's all folks. No dessert. Sorry to disappoint you. I'm not that good! Or was I just trying to be healthier? The world will never know!

I dream a dream...

Classical music

Song writing

Contemporary worship music

Playing the piano

Learning guitar

Poetry

Classic Christan literature

Classic literature

Reading in general

BBC films

Missions

Ministry

Photography

Cooking

Crafting

Fashion

Thrifting

Design

I can't possibly spend time in all these areas AND have a clean house. Not to mention spending time with actual people. (Sigh.) I like to do way to many things. I wish I had time for everything and that I could be very good at it all as well. There just isn't enough time during the day.

I want to write a book, a columnist, a song writer, design interiors, start my own business, open an Etsy shop, photograph on the side, annalize books, memorize lots of scripture, become a soul-winner, write poetry, read all the books in the world, and be the best friend, sister, daughter, wife and mommy (someday) on the face of the earth.

I have great aspirations.

I have big dreams.

What is the life I should lead? Where do I go from here?

These are the questions that plague me today. I want to throw myself whole-heartedly into something. I want every second to have purpose. I am a passionate soul, one that feels things deeply. And my worst fear is a wasted life.

Yet, I have a feeling that that my dreams are still small. I have caught a glimpse of a plan that is so much bigger than myself, an eternal design of my Lord.

"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him"
1 Corinthians 2:9
So for now I will be faithful where I am for now...waiting for a new revelation, waiting to see where the I will be swept up from here.

Dinner for Four

Right now I have a very whetted appetite! You know why? I'm having my very first dinner party (as a newly-wed), that's why! I am beyond ecstatic! I love to cook, but a lot of nights I just whip up something fast because we are so busy. I started talking about having a dinner party even before we got back from the honeymoon. Needless to say, I've been thinking about what I should cook all day! So many delectable ideas have been running through my head. After much ado, I resolved to go with a healthy option for the main meal and something sinfully decadent for dessert. Hopefully everything will turn out as delicious as I am imagining.

Since there will be men in attendance (including my husband), there must be meat. I am perfectly fine without eating meat at meal times, but my hubby likes it so I make it. Thus, tomorrow night we will be having:

Pork tenderloin

Roasted herb potatoes

Fresh green beans with sea salt

And Jonathan's favorite: Sister Schubert's Yeast Rolls

For dessert, we are either having:
Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Or Apple Crisp with Caramel Sauce

As of right now I am leaning towards the apple crisp. I adore anything with caramel! I really can't wait to start cooking. I will have to share some cooking secrets for this meal after we see how it turns out!

Newly-wed goals

I was thinking about my life today. There are several things that I want to strive for in the coming months. Some are serious and some not so serious. Things are changing!

Home:
  1. Learn how to cook meat well (my last attempt at steak didn't turn out as well as I would have liked)
  2. Try a new recipe once every 10 days
  3. Find healthy go-to meals for the Mr. and myself
  4. Finish sorting out all of our wedding things that are stacked in our spare room
  5. Thank you notes. Blah, blah, blah! (Not that I don't really want to write some...it's just that there are SO MANY to do. Hundreds. I'm not kidding. HUNDREDS! The mere thought of starting the process is daunting!)

Fitness:

  1. Start my running routine again (I stopped my daily habbit soon after we got engaged)
  2. Go on a bike ride every once in a while (which means getting a bike :)
  3. Drink more water

Faith:

  1. Spending more time in the Word in the mornings
  2. Pray for my husband and our marriage every day
  3. Pray for the ministries around me
  4. Seek out more ministry opportunities
  5. Become an encourager
  6. Pray for the opportunity to go overseas again soon!

Friends:

  1. Make some new friends in Dothan! (Lots of my good friends don't live close to me anymore. Sad day)
  2. Throw a fabulous diner party complete with three courses
  3. Have a fun game night
  4. Have a "girl's lunch" once every couple weeks

I also want to read some more good books if anyone know of some! Well, I'm sure there are more things that I will think of later, but that's all for now folks!
