Tomorrow, my husband leaves to join the relief efforts for damage done by the massive tornadoes that struck northern Alabama.
My sister-in-law and some of my mom's side of the family live in the areas it struck. My aunt, uncle and cousins took refuge in their church. The storm demolished everything, except for where they were. Despite the glass flying past them and the building crashing down above, they stayed safe. Praise God. Their cars were flattened by one of the walls of the church. Still, they have a home and each other...which is more than many can say right now.
My heart goes out to those who were effected by this disaster. Please pray for my husband and the rest of the team. I wish I could go as well, but I have other responsibilities - thus my heavy heart. My puny arms aren't equipped with enough muscles for clearing rubble anyhow, or at least that is what I am telling myself so that I don't jump in the car with my husband tomorrow. I wouldn't be able to go even if I did have ripped biceps.
I listened to this on the way to work today;
Trouble surrounds me
Chaos abounding,
My soul will rest in You
I will not fear the war
I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way
My help is on the way
Oh my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through - always
