Back from Africa

Hello all! I just got back from Ethiopia last night! Man, it was quite a trip. I have been overseas many times, but I have never experienced anything like this past week. I have seen so much. I knew it would be hard to process all of what I saw, so I put together a few video blogs from the trip along with a few photos. I just brought my little point-and-shoot, but I was able to use several other nicer cameras as well. I hope to be posting more soon!

Until then, I hope you watch this video. I hope it gives you a small glimpse into what it was like. Oh, and sorry for the shaky camera...apparently I didn't know I was doing it!

Thank you for sharing this video. I have been praying lots and lots for you and the team hoping and trusting that God would do amazing things. My heart hurts for the babies, the little girls, the women in the red light district... At the same time I am thanking God for the many blessings in my own life.

Looking forward to hearing more about your trip. You have definitely put missions on my heart... Someday I hope God will provide a way for me to go somewhere and do something big for Him.

Wow! It looks like you had such an amazing trip. It was so nice to see a video and hear you explain things in your own words. I actually found your video last night when I was up in the middle of the night not feeling good. It helped to take my mind off things, because I got lost in your world! :)

Jen, that was a great video. I can only imagine how many lives were changed with having you all be there, including your own.

I'm glad you're back safely. :)

Loved the video, Jen. I am praying over a mission trip to Ethiopia next September to open a school and this made me want to go even more. I am sure that even though you are not physically there anymore, that you left a huge impression behind on those girls. It makes me sick, too, that this is going on in the world.. that some girls are forced to live this way... and I see no reason why it should be happening. There are far too few people who are willing to do something about it. God bless you for being His hands and feet during this mission.

I don't even know how to put into words what I felt as I watched. So powerful. I was brought to chills and tears.(Sorry, I didn't see this sooner. Life is very hectic right now.)

I am humbled that I was able to lift each of you up to the Lord each day you were there (and you thought I'd pray for just ONE specific day? No way! :)

God can do more even in our weakness with HIM than our greatest strength without Him. I pray God will continue to speak to the hearts of those He used you to minster to while you were there.

Just incredible. Can't wait to hear more.

I seriously don't want to judge, but I think it's pretty sad that you did this mission trip for this short period of time. where's the point in cuddling cute little children and how in the world can you feel better afterwards? Those children need stability and not rich, painted ladies from overseas who stay for a few days and afterwards feel good just because the spent some time with the children. just sayin
