Awkward & Embarrassing College Photos

Have you ever looked through all your old facebook albums? I've had a facebook since my freshman year of college. So many things are documented in those photos. These were just too funny to pass up. I look at these and ask my self, "Why, Jen, why?"

Allow me show you who I really am - a very silly and weird person. Ashley and Manda, I'm sorry I have just incriminated you in most of these photos.

Because sticking your tongue out with curlers in your hair is always hot. Duh. 

We were siamese twins. Enough said.

I promise that is not our real butt. We were stuffed with pillows. And yes, that is Devo trying to whip us.

We actually went to class like this on Halloween. So embarrassing! We were ninja turtles and we made those costumes.

The 80's were so cool, we had to bring it back.

We actually put on a 80's workout video for a "No-Talent Talent Show." We were so bad that we won. This exercise was called 'The Beached Whale.' I kid you not.

Um yes, this is a coffin. No, there is no one inside it.

Get it? Butts? Haha.

So weird!!! This photo creeps me out. Marshmallows are just not that good!

Um, so my friends decided to take a picture of me in the bathroom...ON THE TOILET! So embarrassing. As you can see, I was not happy about it!

Pretending to cry at graduations is so appropriate, especially when there are people crying for real.

I really did dress up as the Holy Bible for Halloween. The Holy Ghost is next to me...of course.

I did put this on. Yes, I did. I should wear this everyday, right? Right? Ok, maybe not.

Because playing the accordion is so wonderful.

Really? In the cafeteria. Yes, we did.

In DC...jumping. I was really bad at it and people were watching. Quick glances of distain are always a blessing to receive.

Certainly, we were filled with joy...or stupidity...which ever you prefer. This is just funny.

In India I jumped off sacred landmarks. Mmmhmmm. I might have been a little scared about the landing. But maybe I just like clenching my teeth. You will never know.

1. Words can't even describe this. All I can say is that I was a prince called Rabadash for a video at a youth event at about 3 in the morning. I am on "Sheepy" and headed to see the love of my life.

Yesterday these feet...

Went here...

And then these very dirty feet were washed.

I'm so glad I get to choose whether or not I'm going to wear shoes. There are so many who don't have that privilege.

Yesterday I choose bare my feet for a good cause - just for a day, but hope that I will choose to bare my heart and soul for the cause of Christ everyday. By going without shoes I was able to raise awareness of those in need, and for that I am glad. But what I desire more than this, is that my life brings awareness of Christ in a way that is just as visible as bare feet. 

Shoes for bare soles is temporal; the life of Jesus Christ in souls is eternal.

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!""

Spring sprung into our house!

Yesterday, I woke up (as I usually do) and drug myself down stairs to start a pot of coffee. Then to my surprise I found that Spring had sprung into our house! I was shocked, but overcome with happiness all at the same time. I became so delighted at this discovery that I ate not one, not two, but three Reese's eggs. (I thought it was appropriate for the occasion! Spring is always welcomed with Reese's eggs. It's rule. Look it up! Or at least it is in my rule book.)

Am I kidding?

Maybe.

Still, our Springtime decor makes my heart smile...regardless of how said Spring decorations entered our home. Good thing I love green, because it is everywhere!

I am in love with these little silhouettes. I'd like to think that they look like us...but they don't really. The man's face was actually a silhouette of Edward Cullen. However, a few snips here and there helped rid us of that! Oh, and don't you love the girl's messy bun? Messy buns are best thing since sliced bread.

We still have tons of candles left over from the wedding...so they get put to good use!

I saw that the Dogwood tree by the entrance to our appartment complex was blooming the other day. I am glad someone thought I would some of the blossoms in our house! I have no idea who would stand by the side of the road and cut off some branches...no idea whatsoever. :) But I'm glad they did!

Ah, I love those blossoms!

A few managed to find their way into our bathroom too.

And now there are Azeleas blooming outside of our front window!

...A Day Without Shoes...

Tomorrow is a big day in the casa de Blair. We are taking part in TOMS "A Day Without Shoes" in order to raise awareness for children that go without shoes every single day. Many walk miles and miles to school barefoot. Can you imagine? Well, TOMS is doing something to change that. Not only do they give a pair of shoes to child in need for every pair purchased, they also host this event "A Day Without Shoes." What is really neat is that they don't just give them any kind of shoes. TOMS fits the needs of the children depending on the area. Check out the website to learn more.

We are excited about being able participate with TOMS in such a visible way! This is the first year that I've been involved and can't wait! It will be neat to see how it grows from here!

My husband's work place is having a t-shirt competition for this event. This past Thursday we stayed late to make our shirts. Here is Jonathan's:

Most of my participation will be after work...I sit behind a desk all day, so no one even sees my feet! However, I plan on doing lots of walking barefoot after 5. I really hope you participate with us tomorrow!

Hello Testing, so nice to see you!

I have always loved getting good grades. As a homeschool kid, my mom's grades didn't mean that much to me. That is mainly because I had to do my best for her whether I liked it or not. But my co-op teacher's grades were a whole different story. Getting an A from them was very akin to winning a prize at the fair. It felt so good! I made all A's in college as well. (Ok, I got one B but it should have been an A.) I can remember that blissful feeling of getting back a paper or test with a big, fat A written on the top. Tests were kind of fun for me to be honest. I like the thrill of pushing my mind to remember all the things from class, conquer the test and achieve the highest grade.

However, the words 'pop-tests' and 'pop-quizes' deserve the status of the-most-horrible-thing-a-teacher-can-do in my book. I despised them when I was in school. If you tell me a test is coming, I will prepare for it. You know, study, read or whatever it takes to get a good grade. How do you prepare for a pop-quiz? You don't! One can only hope and pray that the mind retained the things it needed to in class!

Well, this week has been like a spiritual pop-test. I've been in the lowest of lows and reached the highest of highs. It has been quite a spiritual roller-coaster to say the least! Don't you just love it when you are doing fine when....BAM, you are suddenly in the midst of testing. Let me tell, you it is fun. And by fun I mean not! I was hoping that this week would bring more insight and vision to some things in my life, but I wasn't expecting it to come this way. One thing is for sure, I am so glad that I can be real here and share the struggles in my life. It is so good to know I'm not alone!

Even so, the Lord has been so good to me. I know that He disciplines those He loves, and I am grateful for that. He has been faithful to reveal somethings to me today. Instead of being proud (as I might have been), I am so humbled that He chose to give these things to me.

April Fools

Ok, this is random but I just had to share it with you guys.

This morning I was finishing up my make-up before work and my husband comes in the bathroom to get in the shower. We say our usual, very groggy "good morning" and I reach for the toothbrush.

Then it happened.

Jonathan puts his hands on his stomach and says, "Jen, I think I'm pregnant."

(Insert fake gasp of astonishment.)

I then make a pouty face.

"Dang it!" I said, "now I can't pull that one on you."

Touche, husband, touche. You beat me to the punch. I have always dreamed of pulling the "I'm preggo" April fools joke. Now it will have to wait until next year, unless I am actually pregnant of course!

I still have a time to prank him though. I haven't given up hope. If you have ideas, by all means send them my way!
