Hello Testing, so nice to see you!

I have always loved getting good grades. As a homeschool kid, my mom's grades didn't mean that much to me. That is mainly because I had to do my best for her whether I liked it or not. But my co-op teacher's grades were a whole different story. Getting an A from them was very akin to winning a prize at the fair. It felt so good! I made all A's in college as well. (Ok, I got one B but it should have been an A.) I can remember that blissful feeling of getting back a paper or test with a big, fat A written on the top. Tests were kind of fun for me to be honest. I like the thrill of pushing my mind to remember all the things from class, conquer the test and achieve the highest grade.

However, the words 'pop-tests' and 'pop-quizes' deserve the status of the-most-horrible-thing-a-teacher-can-do in my book. I despised them when I was in school. If you tell me a test is coming, I will prepare for it. You know, study, read or whatever it takes to get a good grade. How do you prepare for a pop-quiz? You don't! One can only hope and pray that the mind retained the things it needed to in class!

Well, this week has been like a spiritual pop-test. I've been in the lowest of lows and reached the highest of highs. It has been quite a spiritual roller-coaster to say the least! Don't you just love it when you are doing fine when....BAM, you are suddenly in the midst of testing. Let me tell, you it is fun. And by fun I mean not! I was hoping that this week would bring more insight and vision to some things in my life, but I wasn't expecting it to come this way. One thing is for sure, I am so glad that I can be real here and share the struggles in my life. It is so good to know I'm not alone!

Even so, the Lord has been so good to me. I know that He disciplines those He loves, and I am grateful for that. He has been faithful to reveal somethings to me today. Instead of being proud (as I might have been), I am so humbled that He chose to give these things to me.

I hope to share one thing I have been given this week with you all. Can you guess what it might be? The photo below is a hint!

Say hello to the real us. Yes, we are weird like this all the time.

Have a very blessed Sunday my friends!

It's so nice to know that whatever we are going through God is always good and He never changes! Hope you'll be feeling "ace" soon! Pardon the lame pun.

haha I'm glad your weird all the time. When people take breaks from their weirdness it concerns me deeply. I pray that this week of testing brought about a stronger faith and belief in God and just an overall grand revelation of who Christ is :). Thank you for sharing lovely!

What timing! In my sermon this morning, in an illustration, I said, "I believe in the right of teachers to give pop quizes (I am a teacher). Different perspectives :)

You application here is excellent. The tests of life often come as surprises.

You're so darn cute! I loathe pop quizes, all forms of them. In adult life it translates to interview questions. Worst thing EVER. If they would just give me the questions 2 days in advance then I can prepare my mind and know what I would want to say. Alas, they don't do that. =/

I hope this coming week will bring you more insight. I'll be praying for you my dear!

You were homeschooled? As was I! And I can definitely relate to the highs and lows of spiritual life lately. It has definitely been a time of stretching and growth. I'm glad you're looking for ways you can learn and appreciate this time. <3

Thats so awesome that you were an all A's student (we can ignore that B) in college - I'm also impressed. You and your husband are so cute, seriously. Can't wait to see what you've been up to! x

a quote from my Pastor today, "When God tests you it's to humble you, and see what's really in your heart." totally hit home with me and encouraged me to remember God is there, even through testing times in our life!

You are so, so right! The trials and struggles are frustrating at times, but it's always so refreshing to know that God has his hand in our lives and that he doesn't bring us to anything that he won't bring us THROUGH. :) Thanks for sharing so openly and honestly!

I had the same kind of week, though I doubt as extreme as yours! Lots of temperamental testing.
1 Peter 1:7 "Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it's your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory."

Praying for you guys this week!

Spiritual testing is so different from academic testing, isn't it? I'm one of those people who thinks test are fun too, but when the Lord disciplines me - not so much! But you're right, He disciplines those He loves, so that's always encouraging.
I was a homeschool graduate too, by the way! :-)

What an encouraging post!! As a teacher, I never gave pop quizzes. I think I did once or twice because the entire class was just out of control and the quiz was to instill a bit of fear in them (just being honest). In the end, I never really counted them; I just wanted them to settle down ;)
