Yesterday these feet...

Went here...

And then these very dirty feet were washed.

I'm so glad I get to choose whether or not I'm going to wear shoes. There are so many who don't have that privilege.

Yesterday I choose bare my feet for a good cause - just for a day, but hope that I will choose to bare my heart and soul for the cause of Christ everyday. By going without shoes I was able to raise awareness of those in need, and for that I am glad. But what I desire more than this, is that my life brings awareness of Christ in a way that is just as visible as bare feet.

Shoes for bare soles is temporal; the life of Jesus Christ in souls is eternal.

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!""
- Romans 10:14-15

How cool! Unfortunately it stormed most of yesterday where I was, so I didn't have a whole lot of places that I could go sans shoes; however, it was still fun to be barefoot all day to help raise awareness for others :)

This is so beautiful & it really puts things into perspective for us and how fortunate we are for the things we have, even just the simple things. Thanks for sharing!

I didn't leave my house yesterday but I was barefoot all day =) xo

Nice. I love: the life of Jesus Christ in souls is eternal.
It's so great knowing He resides in me, and you, all who hear and receive the good news.

Amen! So inspirational. I am SO grateful to have shoes -- AND Salvation through Jesus Christ.
I am SO stinking blessed -- I cannot believe that I would need anything else.

Cool! It seems like a good way to remind ourselves how lucky we are. I read an interesting article with a different perspective on the TOMS model that I think raises some interesting points about what their strategy does to local economies: http://aidwatchers.com/2011/04/barefoot-on-broadway-warning-gross-feet-pics/

What a great post. I'm so glad you're bringing awareness to this issue. Maybe it's the hormones making me extra emotional, but I cried a little bit!
